Yoga classes consist of relaxation,guided meditation, breathing, asanas (postures) to strengthen, tone and stretch all major muscle groups in a non competitive environment. Janice teaches a mix of hatha and vinyasa flow with influences from her Sivananda background. Modifications of poses are introduced for beginners or people with injuries
Regular practice of yoga helps to condition your mind and body to relax more effectively, bringing inner peace, tranquility, feelings of well being and positive energy. You will leave the class feeling more relaxed and rejuvenated. Classes are small and friendly to allow a more personal experience and I can help you with small adjustments when necessary.
Yoga means ‘union’ of the body and mind. Yoga balances, harmonises, purifies and strengthens the body, mind and soul. Yoga is a complete system of health leading to physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. Yoga can be learnt at any age and no previous experience is required. It can be incorporated into any belief system, religion or culture – and is inclusive of all faiths.
Yoga can be a gentle and effective way to alleviate stress and any aches and pains, from headaches to backaches. It can give you a toned, youthful and healthy body and mind. Yoga can re-energise you as well as calming your spirit, as you learn how to breathe more effectively, improving the energy flow of your body and your posture.
Wear loose clothing and try not to eat anything heavy for a couple of hours before the class. Please bring your own yoga mat if you have one, or I sometimes have mats to sell for £15. You can borrow a mat for the first class if requested.
