ANXIETY
Sometimes it is perfectly normal to feel anxious, for example, sitting an exam or attending a job interview.  However, sometimes feelings of anxiety are more constant and can affect daily life with symptoms such as irritability, worry, difficulty concentrating or sleeping.

How hypnosis helps:-
Improving your ability to deal with stress and cope better with any triggers of anxiety.  It can help by working through any past events that may have contributed to the anxiety.

How many sessions:-
Usually just one session but could be two if the anxiety is severe or past events are to be worked through.

BIRTH TRAUMA

How hypnosis helps:-
When trauma is experience the brain stores the memory in a way to keep you on high alert to protect you.  The memory is processed using visualisation in a healthier way.

BRUXISM
Involuntary habitual grinding or clenching of the teeth which can typically occur during sleep.  Can be associated with stress, anger or frustration.

CONFIDENCE
We are all born with confidence but life can either build or knock our confidence.  Lack of confidence can be due to any number of reasons.  Maybe through personal experience such as illness, loss, feeling overwhelmed, tiredness or unhelpful comments from other people.

Increasing assertiveness, protection from outside negative influences, strengthening confidence states that are already within you.

DENTIST FEARS
Dental anxiety can be common among most of us to a certain degree, but when it prevents you from getting necessary treatment from your dentist it is said to be a dental phobia.

FLYING FEARS
Fear of flying is a learned fear that comes from childhood or from a past experience of flying.  It can impact holidays, business travel and visiting family or friends.  Statistically, flying is safer than crossing the road or driving but the fear is planted in the unconscious part of the mind which cannot be controlled consciously.

HEADACHES

IBS
A common condition of the digestive system characterised by stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and constipation.  The exact cause is unknown but can be exacerbated by certain foods.  It is also thought that anxiety and stress play a major part in IBS.

It is quite common to be affected by insomnia at some point in our lives, when the normal pattern of sleep is disturbed.  It could be waking early, disturbed sleep or difficulty getting to sleep.

Nail biting is an unconscious habit that can start in childhood and continue into adulthood.  It can be severe enough to cause the nails to look unsightly and even cause pain.  Stress and anxiety usually increase the habit.

PANIC ATTACKS
Panic attacks are brought on by the ‘fight or flight’ response and can come on without warning.  They can be perceived as random and of unknown cause.  The symptoms can include a rapid heartbeat, sweating, shortness of breath, anxiety, dizziness, chest sensations and trembling.

How hypnosis helps:-
Desensitises you to triggers and breaks the habitual response.  Relaxation is taught and your mind learns to take back control and respond more appropriately.

PHOBIAS
Fear is a natural response when there is real danger, but a phobia is an irrational fear to a situation or object where there is little or no danger present.  The phobia invokes feelings of avoidance, anxiety, panic and loss of control.

PUBLIC SPEAKING
Fear of public speaking is a form of social phobia and sets off the ‘fight or flight’ response to the perceived threat.  When speaking in front of people it may cause symptoms of sweating, nausea, rapid heartbeat, trembling, blankness of the mind and the throat feeling tight.

WEIGHT CONTROL
Everyone knows what to do to keep weight under control – eat healthily and exercise.  Sometimes we get into unhealthy habits with food or feel unmotivated to exercise.  It could be binge eating, comfort eating or wanting to eat the wrong types of food.

How hypnosis helps:-
Helps develop a new positive relationship towards food and exercise.  Gives control over unhealthy cravings without making you feel deprived.  Creates positive feelings about your body and increases confidence and self esteem to prevent comfort eating.
